Specifying Kegs
When requesting a quote for kegs, please follow this process.
1. Choose the keg type:
Stainless Steel Kegs - made of high grade stainless steel
ECO KEGs - stainless steel kegs with polypropylene rings at the top and bottom
PLUS KEGs - polyurethane coated kegs
Junior PLUS KEGs - smaller polyurethane coated kegs
Non-Returnable Kegs - single use kegs

2. Choose the keg shape:
If you are looking for 50L kegs, in Australia there are two common shapes.
DIN keg – this is used by Lion Nathan, Coopers and most microbreweries
Euro keg – this is used by CUB (Fosters) and some microbreweries
3. Choose the keg size:
Kegs are available from 3L to 110L. The websites for each keg type above list what sizes are available.
4. Choose the spear type:
Kegs have an internal spear that has a valve at the top. There are two common spear types in Australia, although other spear types are available.
‘A’ type (flat-type) spear used by Lion Nathan and Coopers
‘D’ type (well-type) spear used by CUB (Fosters)
5. Choose any required keg identification:
Options include embossed name on top chime and a painted stripe of your chosen colour around the middle of the keg (between the rolling rings).
