Pipework & Hoses

Smaller breweries tend to use hoses to transfer beer throughout the brewery. Hoses certainly do the job, but they have their pitfalls:

• They are hard to handle
• They make the brewery look messy
• They can be a safety hazard
• They are a source of beer losses and can’t be sterilised
• They are not cheap.

It is worth considering hard-piping certain areas with stainless steel. This can be cost effective, especially when designed into a new brewery project. Stainless steel pipes are easy to clean and sterilise, look fantastic and reduce beer losses.
